I wanted something different. Something more intentional. Something that gives progressive house the breathing room it deserves.
So Gem State was built as a platform for slow builds, long blends, underground textures, and deep emotional energy, without the pressure of club turnover or peak-hour expectations.
It’s a residency for people who want to listen, not just party.
It’s also a place for me to test new originals, unreleased material, label promos, and long-form ideas that wouldn’t fit anywhere else.
A Progressive House Livestream With Its Own Identity
Gem State isn’t just another online DJ set. Over time it has developed its own personality, structure, and rituals:
1. The Long-Form Format
Each episode is four hours or more. That gives me space to build something immersive — something that evolves the same way a sunrise set or a journey-through-progressive experience would be built.
2. Occasional Guest DJs
Sometimes I bring on a guest whose style fits the underground progressive aesthetic. These are curated artists, not open submissions.
3. The Art & Raffle Editions
A few times I’ve painted a full artwork live during the show and raffled it off. These nights feel different — almost like a hybrid gallery/performance show streamed directly into people’s homes.
4. Rare Live Event Versions
Very rarely, Gem State becomes a ticketed in-person event, like the September 6th show at The Gem in Idaho Falls.
Those nights become multi-DJ showcases with live art, visual design, and a full underground house atmosphere.
