Cooper & Bridget Piatt’s Wedding Reception at the Hilton Garden Inn

On Saturday, July 26th, 2025, I had the pleasure of DJing Cooper and Bridget Piatt’s wedding reception. The party went down at the Hilton Garden Inn, right on the Idaho Falls Greenbelt — a familiar spot for me, since I’ve spent plenty of nights there over the years for Christmas parties and events. So when I say I knew the room, I mean it. It was like walking into a familiar gig, just with a different crowd and a new reason to celebrate.

This wasn’t a massive wedding — I’d guess somewhere between 50 to 80 guests — but the energy in the room was solid from the start. The couple had decorated the place with blue flowers, blue runners, and matching blue ties. So I tied that theme together with some blue uplighting to match. I ran my usual wedding rig: 18” sub, dual 15” JBLs, and enough clarity and bass to fill the space comfortably without overpowering dinner conversation.

Minor Hiccup, Major Recovery

I’ll own it — I had one small hiccup at the start. The same song was listed for both the grand entrance and the first dance, and I didn’t catch that until go-time. So there was a little awkward shuffle on my end, but I got it handled. The couple got their first dance moment, the crowd rolled with it, and we were off to the races.

From there on, everything flowed smoothly. Cooper and Bridget gave me a solid playlist ahead of time — no guessing games, no last-minute chaos. Just clean transitions, well-chosen tracks, and a receptive crowd who knew how to have a good time. Their tracks list is below.

A Crowd That Just Got It

Even with the bar open and drinks flowing, this crowd stayed classy. Everyone was chill, respectful, and totally down to dance when the time was right. I got the typical reception requests, mixed in a few personal favorites from the couple, and made sure everything stayed in rhythm with the vibe of the room.

It was one of those receptions where nothing felt forced. The dance floor wasn’t packed start to finish — but when it filled up, it was with people who were genuinely enjoying themselves. The kind of crowd that makes you feel appreciated behind the decks.

Shoutout to the Couple
