The last time anything was published on this blog was January 19. That post focused on a stand against AI art. Since then, nearly two months have passed, and a lot has happened across the East Idaho EDM scene.
Between new shows, community benefits, venue partnerships, and the launch of Open Deck Night in Idaho Falls, the underground music community in East Idaho has stayed busy.
Soirée d’Amour at Misfitz in Pocatello
The first major event was Soirée d’Amour, a Valentine’s Day show hosted at Misfitz in Pocatello on February 14.

The lineup included:
The night brought together supporters from across Southeast Idaho. Friends and supporters traveled from Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and surrounding areas to attend. The turnout was one of the strongest yet for a Pocatello event.
A major thank-you goes to Sara, the owner of Misfitz, who continues to be an accommodating and supportive venue owner.
VIP Packages
VIP packages were offered for the event and included:
- Bottle of champagne
- Box of chocolates
- Custom wristbands
- Two disposable champagne glasses
- Two tickets to the event
Nine VIP packages were sold in advance, and one was given away during the night.
Tammie also provided Valentine’s Day decorations for the event, which helped create the atmosphere for the show.
A Multi-Genre Underground EDM Night
The lineup reflected the diversity of the local scene. Genres throughout the night included:
- Progressive house
- House
- Melodic house
- Techno
- Breaks and breakbeats
- Drum and bass
- Electronica
The opening and closing sets focused heavily on house and progressive house, while the middle of the night leaned into bass-oriented styles to connect with the broader East Idaho EDM community.
Sound System Lessons
The event also served as a learning experience for sound reinforcement at Misfitz.
The setup included:
- One 18-inch subwoofer
- Two 15-inch tops
- Two 12-inch tops
While the system worked, it became clear that additional subwoofer power is needed for future shows. The next event at the venue will likely include two or three 18-inch subs to better support the room.
Despite the limitations, the sound ran well for the rest of the night after adjustments were made.
DJ Highlights
N.S.Z. opened the night with a progressive house set that was a favorite among the early crowd.
Uncle KNNY followed at 9:30 PM, moving through house, techno, breaks, and drum and bass. His friends and supporters brought strong energy to the dance floor.
Pablo started at 11 PM and delivered a genre-blending set including drum and bass, breaks, techno, and even touches of Top 40.
The night closed with a progressive house set from me, The Idahoan, from 12:30 AM to 2 AM.
Overall, the event was a success and another step toward building the underground EDM community in Southeast Idaho.
Future shows at Misfitz are likely.
Pisces Rising: A Benefit for Eddie Cabello
The next major event was Pisces Rising, a benefit show held February 28 at Big Papa’s Grill and Live Music in Twin Falls.

The event was organized to support Eddie Cabello (Sensei the Beast), who was recently diagnosed with liposarcoma and is undergoing aggressive radiation treatment and surgery.
The show was co-hosted by:

Art, Community, and Fundraising
The event also featured live painters.
The Idahoan painted three versions of a beach landscape. One of the paintings was given to Eddie, and the other two were used for fundraising.
Artist Danielle Heathbone painted an acrylic portrait of Rick from Rick and Morty titled “Trust the Process.” Her work was also included in the fundraising raffle.
$6,000 Raised for Eddie
Through a combination of:
- Show donations
- Silent auctions
- Raffle prizes
- GoFundMe contributions
The event raised over $6,000 for Eddie by the end of the night.
The community turnout demonstrated the strength of the underground music scene in Idaho and the support artists show one another.
