Turntables and Taboos: How DJs Manage Explicit Lyrics

East Idaho is full of Mormons. Lot’s of ’em. And if you know anything about Mormons, it’s likely you know that they are generally adverse to cussing. You know, swear words. The f-words, n-words, s-words, b-words, etc. They don’t like them. And, there is really nothing wrong with that. After all, not everybody enjoys hearing obscene, insulting, and derogatory language. Especially during important events like weddings and receptions.

We hired Chad (The Idahoan) to Dj our wedding. I was not disappointed in the slightest. He had the dance floor packed, great to work with, price for what he does is extremely reasonable and had a great variety of music. It was like he knew us when it came to music! Chad was fantastic as the DJ for our 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Fall Arts Festival on the Cloudveil Rooftop. One of the guests enjoyed his performance so much that they got him to stay an extra hour to keep the party going! He arrived early to set up and delivered an outstanding show. 10 out of 10—would definitely book him again!

We didn't end up using this company for our wedding and I was terrible about letting them know we decided on a different route. And even though I was awful about communicating they reached out and made sure I no longer required their services before they booked a different client. That makes me believe they're a stand up company.
