Based in Idaho and with a global reach, The Idahoan is the Gem State’s only DJ specializing in Progressive House and Psytrance music. Drawing inspiration from legendary DJs like John Digweed, Sasha, and Paul Oakenfold, he started DJing in July 2019 and has since uploaded over 500 unique shows on Mixcloud. The Idahoan has opened for artists such as ill.GATES, Robert Babicz, and Darin Epsilon, and holds residencies on Atlantic Progression and Raverholics Radio. Additionally, he provides DJ services throughout eastern Idaho and western Wyoming, booking numerous gigs each year.

If you follow my work as The Idahoan, you already know that Gem State is one of the most important pieces of everything I’m building — as a DJ, a curator, and as part of the Atlantic Progression ecosystem. What started as an idea back in October 2023 has grown into one of Idaho’s most consistent and recognizable underground music residency livestreams, centered around progressive house, melodic sounds, and long-form storytelling through DJing.

Reflecting on an Absolutely Wild Year in East Idaho’s House & EDM Scene

I’m on my lunch break at work, walking around the building, and there are two dead squirrels on the ground. That’s… unfortunate. But since I’ve got a few minutes, it feels like the right time to sit down and reflect on everything that happened this year. Slime Pit 2 is officially in the books (click here to read the recap), and now that we’re at the end of Q4, it’s hitting me just how unbelievably productive this year has been for me as a DJ and promoter.
