I’m Not Your Competition – And You’re Not Mine

Let’s clear the air: I’m a house music promoter in Idaho, yes. But I’m not your average Idaho house DJ. And if you’re spinning Bad Bunny and Dua Lipa in your “house” sets, we are not even playing the same game.

A lot of people see my branding and assume I’m out here trying to compete with every DJ in East Idaho who’s got a playlist full of Beatport Top 100 tracks. Spoiler alert: I’m not.

I’m Not Dissing the Bass Scene—But I’m Not Part of It Either

Let’s make this distinction right now: I have deep love and respect for the bass music scene. A lot of my friends came up in it. I’ve worked with bass artists, thrown shows with them, supported their events, and booked them for mine. That scene is alive, powerful, and thriving.

But what I’m doing is something else.

I’m building something for the people who get it—the ones who crave underground progressive house, melodic storytelling, deep grooves, and emotional tension. Think Bedrock. Think Hernán Cattáneo. Think music that’s more journey than drop.

That’s the culture I’m building here.

The Difference Between What I Do and What “House DJs” in Idaho Do

When I say “house music,” I don’t mean the stuff you hear in Vegas bottle clubs. I don’t mean over-sampled, loop-heavy, Top 40 remixes pumped into frat party speakers.

I mean underground.

I mean story-driven. I mean layered, subtle, emotional, and powerful in a way that doesn’t punch you in the face—but pulls you through something deeper.

If your idea of house music is what’s playing on EDC’s main stage, then you’re not my competition. You’re not even in my lane.

You do this for your image.

I’m doing this for the community.

We are not the same.

Why I Rank—and Why It Makes People Nervous

I’m ranking for terms like:

  • House DJ in Idaho
  • Progressive house DJ Idaho
  • Underground house music promoter in Idaho
  • House music producer in Idaho

…and I know that ruffles some feathers.

But here’s the thing: I didn’t get there by being the loudest. I got there by doing the work. SEO. Branding. Content. Community. Consistency.

So if you’re mad because people are finding me instead of you when they search “house music DJ in Idaho,” maybe start writing good blog posts instead of being a douche? 🤷‍♂️

You Can Have the Club Crowd—I’m After Something Deeper

If your crowd wants to get drunk and grind to a Top 40 remix until they stumble out at last call and get their third DUI, cool. That’s your audience. You can have that shit.

Mine?
They come for the music.
They come for the vibe.
They come for something they’ve never heard before—but will never forget after.

I’m not fighting for the bar crowd. I’m not chasing people who only care about TikTok bangers and bottle service. I’m here to build a community of listeners, not just partygoers.

This Is Bigger Than Just Throwing Parties

I’m not trying to hijack the scene. I’m trying to create a new one.

There are people here—maybe not thousands, but at least hundreds—who are hungry for something deeper. People who are tired of being told there’s only one kind of EDM that “works” in Idaho.

People who’ve heard sets from Digweed, Nick Warren, or Sasha and thought, “Why don’t we get this shit here?”

I want to give them that experience. I want to bring those nights, that vibe, that culture—right here to East Idaho.

Call It What It Is: A Cultural Shift

I’ve seen it in the UK. I’ve watched it in South America. I’ve raved to it while stationed in South Carolina. This sound has taken me places emotionally that no other music ever has—and I want to bring that here.

This is what distinguishes me from everyone else claiming to be a “house DJ” around here.

So no, we’re not in competition.
Because we’re not building the same thing.
You’re stacking forgettable “banger” after “banger.” I’m building legacy.

If you’re into what I’m building, stick around. There’s more coming.

If you’re not—don’t worry. You’ll still have your place to get drunk and dance to Bad Bunny, poorly.
