EDM Vibes in the Tetons: Dana & Chandler’s Wedding at Grand Targhee

Just wrapped Dana and Chandler’s wedding on June 20, 2025, and this one had a little bit of everything—mountain views, EDM community vibes, and even a wild fox wandering the reception tent.

Mountain Weather, But We Made It Work

The forecast was all over the place leading up to the day. It rained in the morning at Grand Targhee, leaving everything wet and a little chilly. Wind and some light sprinkles stuck around through the day, but we lucked out—no torrential downpour, no lightning, and nothing that messed with the actual ceremony or reception. Just classic high-elevation unpredictability.

The ceremony took place on a hill overlooking the reception tent below, right behind the lodge the family rented for the weekend. Scenic doesn’t even cut it. The Tetons, ski lifts, and late-spring mountain greenery made for an absolutely epic backdrop.

DJing for DJs (No Pressure, Right?)

There were about 80 guests, many of whom I’ve partied with before at The Gem during EDM nights in Idaho Falls. This wasn’t just a wedding crowd—it was a DJ crowd. Naturally, I felt a little pressure. I mean, DJing for a bunch of other DJs? You already know they’re listening with sharper ears.

But honestly, the nerves didn’t stick around long. The whole group was laid-back, supportive, and just vibing on the energy of the day. Schedule changes? A few. Last-minute shifts? Of course. But I stuck to Dana and Chandler’s request list and filled in the rest with tracks I knew they’d feel.

The Setup & Flow

I brought my full rig:

  • Two 12″ speakers
  • Two 15″ speakers
  • 18″ subwoofer
  • Full lighting setup

Sound was dialed. Lighting gave the tent a proper dancefloor feel. While I didn’t pack the dance floor all night, that wasn’t really the vibe. Guests were more into chilling, catching up, and soaking in the moment than getting rowdy. That said—shoutout to Trevor and Logan for hopping on the decks at the end of the night and giving it a spin. It was a solid way to close things out.

A Wild Ending (Literally)

As I was breaking down gear at the end of the night, I ended up alone in the tent—and not entirely alone. A female fox wandered in, casually sniffing around for scraps. She wasn’t scared of people at all. Clearly a seasoned partygoer (read: trash fox). Kind of felt symbolic in a way—this wild, beautiful setting, and the weird magic of mountain weddings.

Final Thoughts

Yeah, the day ran long. Yeah, I got a flat tire on the way home and had to call in my wife and family for backup. But I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. The Grand Targhee crew was professional and responsive, the scenery was unbeatable, and Dana and Chandler were incredible to work with.

To both of you—thank you for letting me be a part of your day. I’m proud to call your crew my people.
